EACH ONE OF US CAN SENSE THE WINDS OF CHANGE WHICH WE ARE EXPERIENCING IN OUR OUTLOOK TOWARDS HEALTH AND WELLNESS AROUND US.
Across India the growing trends of sneaking health conditions like obesity, spondilytis, hypertension are seen which result in bigger catastrophes like heart attack, stroke and paralysis. Did you know that 75% Indians below the age of 40 are over stressed? WHO says, in India 60% of the deaths are attributed to chronic lifestyle diseases; possibly will increase to 77% over the next 10 years.
India has already been dubbed as the diabetes capital. This is partly because of the country’s huge population. The other reason is changing lifestyle of its people. It’s a sad by-product of India’s globalisation and emerging economy. People are becoming less active; lives are more sedentary which is out of their control, as many jobs demand so. Sitting is the new smoking…. People have to change their mindset. Simple actions like walking could make a lot of difference to their heart. Change in policies and a drift in individual mindsets are all we need to counter cardio-vascular diseases” says, Johanna Ralston, CEO, World Health Foundation
