Our Commitment towards a Sustainable Life
Our Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Vision is to achieve and sustain an incident-free organisation. In order to achieve this Vision, we have established processes and systems in identifying, eliminating and controlling potential hazards present in the workplace which can lead to an incident or injury. Our culture promotes safety across our locations.
Galaxy Surfactants has established a strong Incident management system in place and all the incidents are captured, reported and appropriate action are taken to avoid recurrence of incidents. The primary focus of the incident management process is to restore the operation at the earliest and minimize the impact on business operations. Regularly all the incidents are compiled to see the overall trend of the incidents and enterprise level decisions are made to contain the incidents. All incidents including “Off-Site” incidents, incidents such as Environmental incidents, property damage incidents are captured and reviewed.
Lost Time Injury rate is one of the Safety KPIs that is being closely monitored in Galaxy for all locations. We make continuous efforts to reduce our LTI rate as the safety of our employees is our topmost priority.
We have monitoring and control systems in place to prevent spillage together with integrated automation and control systems that manage spillage, leakage & overflow. We provide training to our employees on how to evade spillage and overflows, at the same time how to tackle the situation if it happens. With time, we are continuously working on achieving minimum spillage. With the base year of FY 2012-13, our environmental incidents have reduced by 17.14%.
Galaxy has achieved certification for ISO 14001:2004 and BS:OHSAS 18001:2007 for Taloja and Jhagadia manufacturing units and is in the process of attaining certification for other manufacturing units.
